Angel Chrysalis vintage vessel candles are all unique and need special attention. You can hold them as decor but if you decide to add a flame, here are a couple of things to keep in mind.

First Burn

When lighting the candle for the first time, let the candle burn for 2-4 hours (depending on size) or until you have a full pool of wax. This will prevent tunneling which is when the wick burns straight through the center.

But please be mindful that due the irregular nature of the vessels, there may be instances where the wick doesn’t create a full pool where the wax reaches the edges. Do not exceed time as this may result in an accident.

And remember, before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch to ensure an even flame and prevent excessive soot.

Keep Candle in Sight

We may not need to even remind you, as you’ll be mesmerized by its beauty, but always keep an eye on a burning candle to avoid any accidental fires.

While we do our best to source vessels that can withstand the heat, they are vintage and they are irregular so give it some extra love. Never go beyond 4 hours and if small keep under 2 hours.

For safety, make sure flora and anything that is flammable remains away from the flame or else it may act as an additional wick and can lead to accidents.

Dark & Cool Storage

To preserve the scent and color, when the candle has cooled down, store it in a cool dark place. Sunlight may cause the color to fade and scent to lessen.

Re-use Vessel

As the wax reaches 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the bottom, it’s time to transition the vessel to a new life.

Scrape excess wax as well as the wick base. Use warm water and soap to fully wash the vessel. Once cleared, it’s ready to be jewelry holder, candy dish, or whatever your creative mind desires. If you’ll re-use as a candle vessel, fully inspect the vessel for cracks to avoid any issues.

At this time we are not doing refills but we hope to offer more options when we’ve set a system in place :)
